My zoo update

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yesterday I got a group of peacock bass for the display.
Today was detail day, and I spent most of it fine tuning the flow rates, O3, temp regulation etc....

I also got to peel the protective plastic coating off of my main viewing window for the River exhibit (arapaima pool). It's alot nicer to be able to see into the exhibit now.

My stingray pool is fully cycled and I'm prepping to move rays in later this week.

i cant wait to see the updated pics. it looks amazing. how many gals. in each tank?

They're relativly small when compared to other places, but the people here think they are HUGE. :D The main pool is about 10,000. The stingray stream and river turtles are acutally one system at around 7,000. That system is divided into two pools. There will be some smaller tanks as well for things like caecilians etc...

I added fish to the exhibit today. I put in the 4 motoro pups, 1 adult female motoro, my school of banded leporinus as well as my school of various silver dollars in the stingray pool.

I had to dose the larger system to get the pH down (stupid concrete edges making it stay above 8). I'll start moving the red pacu, black pacu, RTC, TSN, silver arows and the ARAPAIMA :headbang2 this weekend.
