Ya i really can tell you for sure i would say try a small cheap coral (frag) and see how that goes and then go from there sorry i cant be of more help cause that is ALOT of watts

Yeah I was buying a 36 watt but they gave me the wrong box, LOL. I am getting so many mixed advice... some say 90 watts is good, some say people go up to 150 watts per gallon... I'll stick to the 7.2 watts per gallon for now.

Your ok just dont do any hard corals

Looking to start a Nano-small reef tank. I have access to a 55g SW tank, but to tell the truth I know more at this point about setting up ponds then I do reef/tank setups.

Any good place to give SPECIFICs on tank setups, lighting needs, etc?

Should I just start with an Aquapod? (halide or reg? want to be able to keep any kind of coral)

Tank sizes, bigger the easy still apply?

Where can I get a complete list of whats needed for a well running reef?

I I went with a 55g tank, could I go slightly easier on the reef/rock portions and add a few more fish/shrimp?

well you should have about 4-5 watts per gallon so for a 55 you should have around 250 watts if you want any kind of coral you have go MH. IF you do do a aquapod agian if you want any coral do a MH. Bigger is easier so what (salt, temp suff like that) but i personaly think with corals its good to start in the 10-30gal range. For a well run coral tank you need the light, alot of flow, live rock, calcium supplemt and other supllments that im sure you have seen in the bottles but calucium is the main on IMO. With corals you want as much rock as you think looks good and fits(gives more spots for corals) but less rock doesnt mean morer fish or shrimp. hope this help any other ? just ask

I just found out that I DO have T-5 lighting, but kind of long for the 10 gallon. Would it be good to have the PCs and T-5 on the tank? Or is that too much lighting. The PCs are 72w, and the T-5 is 48 watt but 48" so only like a thid enters the tank. When I add the T-5, everything is brighter, and less blue.

well you need around 4-5 watts for corals but i dont know if there is such a thing as to much lightin but mixing lights isnt a problem
