So...what do you guys think of the whole "Nano Tank" fad? As Monster Fish Keepers, it's something that's not feasible to have if you want to keep Pbass, Dats, Knives, Polys, etc. Think these tanks are becoming the next big thing?

Next big thing, YES......I think MINI MONSTERS......Pea Puffers.......Saltwater has a lot more options when it comes to NANO setups....The best way of getting into the saltwater scene is by starting with a NANO setup.........

Yep, only downside is that satwater is addictive. I started with a seven gallon nano, now planning a 250 reef tank.

I am mostly freshwater........The largest saltwater tank I took care of was a 300g(my uncles')..........I easily got bored of the fish and decided to go all fresh......I kept a pair Volitan lions in a 55 for a couple of months, then went back to monster cichlids.........I just cannot get used to mixing garbage can loads of saltwater everytime I do a water change.........I have large tanks, and when I do water changes, it's IN AN OUT...........

This is my nano

It's a 5 gallon metaframe tank that sits on my desk. No C02 no ferts. I swear this is the easiest to care for tank I have. Lighting was cheap, water changes take only a few minutes and the plants grow slow enough I don't have to trim very often.

It's filled with interesting inverts and a single dario dario.

I really like the look of nano tanks (nano reefs and nano planted tanks). Think they can look really great, plus they are very cheap and easy to maintain. Won't be swapping my big tanks just yet though.

Yup. That's the biggest complaint. Plus the R/O units can be a mega headache. You'll know when your R/O unit fails when you have an algae bloom like a kelp garden in your reef.

That's the allure of nano's. People can go to there LFS and purchase R/O water by the gallon (they may only need 2 gallons per change).

I started a 2.5g at home upstairs in my office. It is a simple glass tank with the matching light fixture. I run an Azoo palm filter and a Hydor heater on it. I really enjoy watching the lone betta in there while I'm on the computer. Its a nice conversation piece to try and get my friends into fish. Because when they see my 120g and then they find out I'm upgrading to a 210g, they think I'm nuts!
