man nba team are losing player to euro teams now. nba should add more team so that player will stay and play. nba is getting small snice so much player coming out form college.

Nah, it's just no-names basically. Filler players to fill the voids. :) This is good for Europe, and the NBA. Maybe now all of their over-hyped players, that get drafted top 10 then produce nothing, will stay there and stop wasting draft space. :D Hell we almost got lucky by them taking Vujacic.......HAHA!.....sorry Kobeclone, had to. lol

The reason it took this long to see him play like he can is because he had to sit out and act severely injured for more numbers in the lotto, which they obviously won.......

I'll agree that had something to do with it, but i also think he realized it would be better to heal 100% then to play hard for nothing. He sure didn't show nutz by picking the second option but he showed off his large brains.

I think they should have taken a big man instead of Deron. The guy isn't as good as CP3, looks ugly and can't really play the 2 as effectively as any of the other guards. I see where you have to have kid for some vet leadership, but why not double up on vet leadership and offer a spot to somebody we know is going to compete in the post like KG? I know he's getting a little old but he still has that drive and is top 5 in the league still, and what are foreign countries going to do against a beast like KG? Throw Yao on him and watch him get torched?

I'm not sure who all was offered a spot on there as i seriously can't remember but it seems they offer spots to the younger guys and a select few vet gaurds.

You could probably have a better starting 5 with the people they didn't pick to go to China.

pg - Billups
sg - If healthy T-mac, or somebody like an Allen or J. Johnson who are better at spreading the deffense then Redd
sf - J-smoove is still developing so a Pierce, Marion or R. Jefferson to start might end up being better
pf - KG end of story except a Duncan for backup
c - a pure rebounder or throw in Duncan...I'm not saying Amare because he didn't want to go to the olympics Chandler is a reserve so Camby would help out the cause

Might not sound as great as the team USA but i'm betting with a mix of a lot more vets and more deffensive minded players this team could probably beat the starting lineup in international ball....probably not NBA ball though.

babling on i suppose and i'm sure one of you will rip apart my proposition, so i'm off to go fishing

actually your idea is pretty good..i'm not yet sold on how the US team was formed they built it more for speed than height, probably for better ball movement and transition against the zone. I might be old school but i believe that rebounding and height is still more important to a team

Thats exactly what I'm talking about.

Sure athleticism helps out, but if decide instead of playing speedy quick flashy basketball and just decide to take it to the other team through pure size, strength and force, i don't see a way we can lose. Think of it as a varsity basketball team vs. a junior high team.
If the varsity guys want to win, they just need to use their pure size and strength advantage and they have it easy.

My "dream team":

If you want to be a little flashy:

pg - Kidd
sg - Kobe
sf - Lebron
pf - KG
c - Amare

If you want win no matter what:

pg - Kidd
sg - Lebron
sf - KG
pf - Howard
c - Amare

Seriously nba bigs are about as fast if not faster then international guards and who needs outside shooting when you can just pound it inside over and over again. Zones like to limit inside scoring, but how are you seriously going to stop Dwight Howard and Amare Stoudamire on the same team? You can pretty much just run a triangle around the lane with Amare and Howard down low and KG up top of it and one of the three could pretty much score at will. Heck if they missed a shot we'd get the offensive rebound 80% of the time.

Of course i still think team USA will bring home gold as long as they can grind it out occasionally when running the ball isn't possible.

i nigth be a little biased (look at avatar) but i would be including kobe in bot of those line ups with howard or amare coming of the bench they have to have somebody who can hit the outside j

My thoughts on the two topics:

Players leaving for Europe. Right now it's bad for the NBA only in a pr sense. It only makes them look bad, but really I think it makes them a better league. Pd kind of said this, but really the guys who are leaving are the ones who are overpaid role player guys. The actual reason why this is happening though is because of the way the NBA structures their contracts. All of the players leaving are restricted free agents. Which in the NBA means that whenever a team offers your guy money, you can match the offer. Sounds good right? Except, this doesn't apply to foreign teams. They can offer whatever they want, and the NBA team doesn't get the opportunity to match it. This will certainly be addressed in the off-season. Also, expansion might be the worst idea for the NBA right now. There is already to big of a gap between the top guys and everybody else. I wish they would cut out like 3-4 teams actually.

Team USA. Not a bad proposal about the guys who didn't make it, or probably more accuratly the guys who don't want to go. Thats the issue. Some of the guys mentioned would be great on this team, but that doesn't mean that they want to go and play. This team is "small" by design. They are betting on the idea that although on paper they are going to be smaller than some opponents, they think they are tougher. So, I don't mind seeing how guard heavy they are, because now you can basically throw waves of young, fast, creative guys at your opposistion and I don't think the other teams will be deep enough to handle it.
Having said that, Howard would still be a perfect fit, and I don't know why he isnt there, and laugh if you want but Kaiman would make this team real solid.

Yeah laugh it up. :irked:

I know we need help in the front court but man.....:irked:

Hopefully this is a move that will give us a little more flexibilty in the trade market. Supposedly a deal was gonna happen for Josh Smith a couple weeks back, but they were asking too much. I'm guessing they wanted Prince, and either Maxiell or Amir Johnson, now we can possibly deal one of those guys too, and not be left with nothing....(just close to it)
