I lost a ray last night. She'll be headed out for an autopsy on Monday since they couldn't pick her up tom morning if I shipped today so since the weekend screwed this all up now I may potentially get an inconclusive result.
She's been bagged up and kept in a cooler full of ice, but now I have to gag and prolly puke through this "task"
I'm following their instructions. I scored some formalin over lunch from a vet here in town. Now I need a gill sample. I fix cars, NOT animals. I have NO friggin clue how to get this sample they want. I guess there's a bone in the gill area I'm supposed to find and just cut a chunk of tissue out, drop in the formalin and fridge it.
Do I just cut right down the gill slits and what I need is right there?
Could really use some guidance here folks....... Anything! Links? Maybe some good ol DW enlightenment? Anders? Matt? Any of you more scientific guys that could lend a hand I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks a ton in advance.
