Anyone got some suggestions here-
I'm useing a piece of either PVC or ABS that is black.

It does not sink on it's own and has to be weighted with driftwood.I hate this

So I am looking for a new home when I transfer my Eel to my big tank.
I open to all sugestions.Only requirement is it must be something that is 4 inch in diameter and 46 inch in length and sink on it's own.
I just can't seem to thing of much on my own when it comes to being all safe for water params and what not.

Looking forward to some suggestions here please.
Thanks
AK

You could cover the pvc with aquarium glue then roll it around in what ever substrate you have (obviously out of the tank) then glue some larger rocks to it to make it blend well and stay at the bottom.

Here is what I did, I simply drilled two or as many holes as you want in the PVC pipe and attach some suction cups to them. Simply set them on the bottom, cover them up with substrate and looks like perfect. Hope this helps.

What kind of gravel you using? You can use silicone and silicone the gravel on the bottom of the PVC pipe to hold it down. Or, silicone a piece of slate to the bottom of the PVC.

i could be wrong but whenever the pvc pipe is pushed down i believe a small air bubble gets caught under the top so if you drill some holes it will let the bubble esscape and the pvc to sink..its just a suggestion..maybe try on a small piece of pipe to see if it works out first before you try it on the actual one you are using

No
I did this before with much smaller pieces-
this eventually falls off-I will have problems down the road cause of this-
I do not want that.

Plus my substrate is way to large to attempt this with it not looking like garbage once done.

I kinda like this idea
My only thing would be that just like anything that uses suction cups-they too will eventually need replaced.
My other thinking on this idea is that my large pacu is abeast when it comes to his tank.He rearranges it sometimes as he see's fit-
I could easily see him knocking the pipe from the suction cups daily.....I do not see my tank daily....So this could be a problem......

does it have to be the same dimensions as you said?
i bought a small cylindrical trash can with the hinging lid. i took off the lid and cut out the bottom to make a big tube for my RTCxTSN. it works great.
