Bring down stress on both sides. You could use a piece of glass or egg crates from Home Depot the the holes will be too big.

I just hope that they don't squeeze through the tiny cracks in between the glass and divider. It is very miniscule but, enough to get through if they tried.

It's going to be interesting to say the least. The tank divider was a good idea I've noticed they've mellowed out quite a bit.

Yes that's why I give my breeding pairs their own tanks or divide them

Well now that I know they are a mated pair I'm considering giving them the whole tank after I move into my house next month.
