Need advice Getting ready to order a 10'x4'x3-4' Tank

those filters that Nic posted a link to DO need an external pump. Mostly you're looking at 5K GPH pumps. Like a hammerhead.

How many gallon's is 10x4x30"?

Do "Hammerhead's" Plug into the wall? Or have to be wired? I MUCH prefer a plug in type deal.. Maybe 5-6 Mag 36's?

I found a Metal guy to build me a stand.. Sturdy as hell for 5-6 hundo.. So he's allready making that.. Because the tallness of the tank won't matter. It's going to be 10x4 so he's doing the stand now.

We should be setting this up pretty soon. I may have to wait a few week's to afford the pump's and supplies. Because the tank prices are going to hurt the Check book. :(
 
most of those types of pumps plug right into a wall you would have to check them out... mag 36 has gotten alot of bad rap i wouldnt buy them...

What would you purchase?
 
If you are trying to do this cheaper when possible, go with no holes or sumps and such, but still want a clean set-up, I would do FX-5s. Sure they are no ehiem, but I had that model fluval (until I sold the setup) and know other people that do, really haven't had a problem with noise (I'd sometimes get scared it wasn't running!) or the pump breaking, so I don't know where all these horror stories come from, I was very satisfied with it.

sorry i was quoting my entire package price.

a 10x4x2.5 is a gross 750 gallons, yet tenecor labels it as a 670, i asked them about this, and they said its because they like to list its actual finished gallonage.

No worries, Just wanted to make sure you did'nt get over charged. But i'm sure there stand's ect.. Are pretty pricey. But very nice for sure.

yes. since they dont offer a complete package for this size, id have to order everything separate and custom. and that price was tank, stand, lighting, filter, canopy.
 
I'll be useing Aquadyne filter. Thanks for the head's up Li!
