Linus_Cello;3789969; said:What about feeding shrimp shells to Leporacanthicus or Pseudacanthicus? I would assume that would be appreciated as they are carnivorous (or is most of their meaty diet molluscs like snails or mussels rather than crustaceans?).
I throw krill into the tank I have the smaller plecos in. Adonis and leopard catcus plecos don't like to share and I don't want leftover rotting in the tank. I'm sure though that they would happily accept it.

Whiskers - Don't you worry about the acrylic when you move your beast to the 600?
He's not going into the 600. While the tank isn't pristine, I would be concerned he would leave craters in the acrylic.

i had loads and loads of bogwood in my tank which was very dark brown - like the colour of dark chocolate. but during the night i heard my plec scraping the wood with his teeth, throughout the whole night!!!
this morning i wake up and ALL of my bogwood is a lovely pale brown colour
im wondering what he scraped off the wood? maybe it's loads of algae??? cos it seems like there was a really thick dark brown layer on top.
he also chewed on a carrot in the night, so im happy he is eating well. i took the carrot out and examined it, and its soooo weird when i put the carrot in, it was smooth and now i can actually feel lines all over it, very gritty ones! very cool
yep you definitely need to get one. i dont regret getting this guy one bit. although gotta admit his red eyes are a bit freaky
I have never heard any of my plecos. I have a lot of water noise though. That must be pretty cool to hear him chomping away.
