Need help all the discus are going south!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Will do! What if after a week they still haven't shown progress but are still living?
They ARE better but only slightly. One of them has it's fins displayed in the normal position and will swim around for a while, then go hide with the other in the corner but its fins will still be displayed normal? Actually there are 3 now that will act like this it confuses me. Both the turquoise are horrible cloudy eye and crazy looking white lines across the bodies

Its a problem with there slime coat. The rays may have been riding the sides of the discus and removed the coat causing an infection. I have seen this before years ago the only thing i ever treated them with was triple sulfa tabs which i am not even sure they sell anymore.

We also took the geophagus out of the tank and they already are showing alot of improvement... I never had seen the geos shoe any aggression but possibly we're stressing the discus out? Im going.to wait it out for a while before adding any medications. Because of how much better they are acting now that they are alone

I hope all turns out well. Believe it or not salt will do wonders on a stressed fish...............

You should really QT the Discus in a seperate tank or remove all other occupants and TREAT YOUR Discus before you lose them all!
Good luck

They now are separated from all other fish besides 3 bushy nose plecos (2inches) waterchanges and salt is considered treating right? Or are you suggesting medication

How are they looking now? . It is hard to diagnose the issue with our seeing it. If need be continue with the high temp and salt treatment... As stated by Discus O. try the Kanaplex treatement if you suspect a bacterial infection.

I don't know if its bacterial or just bad stress is my issue. And meds are hard to get locally without ordering. The 2 turquoise are still looking like there is weird white markings on their body and don't look as glossy as usual (but shoeing improvement) the rest look totally fine they just hang out with the turquoise almost as a comfort thing.. my pigeon bloods will swim around like normal about 60% of the time and even display fins and normal colors. The other 40% they hang out with the others
