I HAVE A 10G NANO THAT HAS BEEN RUNNING FOR 8 MONTHS NOW AND HAVE NOT GOT ANY CORALINE GROWTH... AND IDEAS HOW TO BOOST UP GROWTH.. I THREW A PIECE OF LIVE ROCK WITH SOME ON IT BUT NO GROWTH IN 3 MONTHS... ANY HELP

need a lil' more info than 10gal nano - like the stuff in the water that coraline needs and doesn't need - alkylinity, calcium, magnesium levels + harmful stuff like phosphates and nitrates. Also it can take 30 mo. or more just to get new coraline growth on your single pc of LR.

They do make additives of calcium bicarbonate - like "purple up" that might help if your levels are too low.

+1 to the above...your lighting might need to be better...your h2o quality might need to be better, you might need to add supplements, and you might need to add some more coraline at this point.

my water quality id fine every thing is spot on.. but is 450ppm a little low for calcium... i want to try purple up.. does it work. or is it money down the drain? my lights are 2x 24 watt 10k and acitinic by current usa i believe.. i dont know what to do... warm the water 2 degrees to 78.. holds steady a 76 right now...

its got 10 pounds of LR and 8 pounds of crushed coral. breeding pair of bangaii cardinals. also have star poloyp frag and couple of shrooms

Just to echo a few other here, I would also suggest checking your alk and mag to verify they are within the normal range.

I had good coraline growth starting a few weeks ago (after about six months) with only about 25% of the rock in the tank being live rock. I also keep my temp at 79F.

took me about 4 years to grow it in my reef tank...ha

im sure it is different for every tank...but I never added any LR that previously had it either, I just let it grow on its own.
