Need help on cycling

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oh should i remove both ammonia remover and carbon, and buy another biomax media( so it would be foam, biomax, biomax)? Would this speed up cycling and be beneficial?

Adding another bag of bio max will not speed up your cycle process, but will give you more area for the BB to colonize.

What is the pH of your tank?

btw i dont have any substrate, cause i hate sucking up the waste because its hard to do with substrate. Without it, you could easily spot it and suck it all up. feel me? lol

ph is around 7.2-7.4

Just wondering, there are reports on the web that ammonia is non toxic when the pH is acidic(under 7.0). Not sure if I beleive this and don't want to find out. Anyhow it doesn't apply to your tank

Good luck with it,

Without the carbon, the water can still be clear when its cycled?

yes.

ditch the carbon and ammonia remover, keep up on your water changes, and buy another bag of bio media for more bacteria to colonize on.

where does the BB colonize? On the biomax?
oh and when i change the foam in 2 weeks, should i pour out all the water+waste in the filter? or it has BB in it?
