NEED HELP! Stringray won't eat pellets

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So, u'll starve your ray to death bc ur too lazy to properly convert to pellets or UR TOO CHEAP?? Wow.
that's my point. And he will eventually die if I cannot get him to eat anything besides worms. U serve no purpose commenting here. Like I said go troll somewhere else.
Also wmkr, what type of fish are you feeding them? I know my friend use to feed his arowanas catfish pieces. Will that work?

Why can't you buy worms until you convert your ray to something else? Why does it have to die? LOL
And, why are you feeding your ray worms that you're catching outside? Not a smart idea (pesticides, fertilizers, pathogen, etc..).

That's exactly what I'm doing but in case you couldn't read I am asking for help on HOW to convert him. I dont understand why you have taken so much time to troll here without offering any advice. I am actually looking for help. That's what monsterfishkeepers is for.

IMO don't resort to pellets. Try fish fillets, checken heart, market prawn or breed your own worms since vermiculture is quite easy.

I actually agree with the others here in some aspects if you can't provide for your ray then you aren't in a situation where you should be keeping one.

Since yiu alrady own one. Take it easy, maybe 3 days fasting at a time ot you'll risk damage. I find yha frequent water changes really get them hungry.

Yea I do frequent water changes: like 20% a week. In the summer I could keep him fed easily but it's just now that school started I don't have nearly as much time. I will try ShadowStryder's method for pellets and also try shrimp and market prawns. Thanks for the help everyone.

So, you can't even keep up with water changes and you expect to keep a ray. Do some more research and sell your ray to someone who can care for it properly before it dies in your care while you are catching worms for it from your dad's lawn. WOW.

buy some market shrimp, get it feeding well on them then stuff the shrimp with carnivore or massivore and in no time it will eat just the pellets.
on a side note, 20% a week water change should be 20% a day.

I'd have to disagree on this, of you have an established filtration then you can do with once a week.

On another note. Put together a guppy or sword tail breeding tank. Works great when running low on their usual menu.

+1 to everything peter has said..
If you cannot afford to take care of it then you should have never got it...
rays cost a lot of money in many different ways....

look, i am not slamming you. its just plain as day you have gotten yourself over your head with this..
