NEED HELP! Stringray won't eat pellets

Can't get him on pellets still... He's now on a diet of mainly market shrimp. And I've started doing daily water changes. Still, if anyone has anymore suggestions on how to get him to eat the pellets I would be grateful. Please, no more telling me I don't know what I'm doing. I've been keeping fish for several years and although it is my first ray, this isn't my first big predator.

Every on here is giving you good advice , it took me over 3 months of chopping worms with shrimp and pellets , but now I AM PROUD ! All my rays eat frozen minnows , krill , market shrimp and tilapia , and pellets .no more digging / growing worms . If your keeping rays your feeding a lot and doing bi weekly water changes

Here's how I do it.. if he's eating frozen this works best.

Take his fave food (sounds like shrimp in ur case) and defrost in a container. There should be juices from the defrost (if not add a bit of water). Throw a few pellets into the container to soak up all of the liquid. That gets all of the taste onto the pellets and softens them up to make them more pallatable. Then proceed to feed them. May take a while to get them to eat but it's always worked within a couple of weeks for me with little starving needed.

I've also stuffed the shrimp with pellets and over several weeks lessened the amount of meat so that it's mainly pellet. All the way until I use soaked pellets as stated above and no meat.

These are proven techniques that I learned from others on here.

Oh, and, I normally use massivore as the first pellet for rays. They seem to eat it much more readily.

Thank you that is very helpful. But I just have one question. When I try feeding him the pellets soaked in shrimp or worm juices, if he doesn't take them, how long should I starve him before giving him plain old shrimp that I know he will eat?
