Need help with arowana Tank mates...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Tinfoil barb are good, severums or oscars if your into cichlids, actually any non aggressive cichlids that can grow big will be good. I have mine with odoe pike since i like feeding the same type of food. I feed tilapia most of the time alternate with carni sticks and sometimes i give crickets and worms a threat. Sorry to hear about the other aro, usually two aros wont work, you’ll need 3 or more to spread aggression.
A little skeptical about cichlids since they become territorial

I was thinking of Oscars but yeah ,the little aro is precious to me... Going back and forth with the decisions. How about a small red tail cat

Dont go the rtc route. The rtc will outgriw the arowana really quick and will eat the arowana. If you want something more in the tank go with like me and others have stated with silverdollars, datnioids or large peacefull cichlids like geophagus species

An group of some nice eartheaters can work really well with arowanas. Silverdollars will work two. No agressive fish when they are small since they are very very sensitive
Yeah some nice earth eaters sound good. Feeding would be difficult with the tin foil Barb's around

Thars was this forum is all about. And it is nice to see someone ask first buy later rather than buy first ask later. So thanks to you my friend. A group of geos is always nice. Im currently looking for a large group of satanoperca deamon for my large tank. It cant go wrong with eartheaters.
