When I get home, I'm going to move this little guy out of the big tank into a 20gallon I have. I think this will help we dosing with less water volume too. Is essentially any Epsom salt good, or I need to avoid certain ones/brands? Thanks again folks.

As long as it's pure MgSO4 I truly believe your fine. I got a several pound bag of Dr. Teal's something or other from a drug store years ago. I used it when I had Tropheus or a suspected case of internal parasites. It works well making a solution to feed fish for GI issues cred to RD. RD. I think I read his bloat thread well over 5 years ago before I was an actual MFK member. I always cruise the net for research...but doesn't go well with some OCD type of quirks and traits lol.

Read the shared thread above to understand more, thanks again.

I refilled the 20G and tossed in the biofiltration rocks for the aquaclear that had been in my sump. This should help with cycling.

I got pure MgSO4/Teal's and put in 4 tablespoons and put him in Saturday morning. I also soaked a few pellets in epsom/water mix.

He doesnt look worse as if today but I dont think is better either. In general, should I be seeing any changes by now?

Is this prolaspe itself contiguous or just a negative result of the other variables mentioned. My parameters were good, so perhaps just move stress to begin with?

Hi - Still looks the same, not any better. Could someone advise on my questions above and/or have inputs on possible next step/options? RD. RD. , kno4te kno4te ?

Thanks all.

Unfortunately these kind of defects may not resolve. As long as the fish is acting normal. No other fish are stressing the severum and even picking at the prolapsed area...then it’s the best that can be done. I’d keep the severum solo and cont with the pellets infused with Epsom salt.

Will do. I'm assuming that I don't add more epsom until I do a water change? He doesnt look to be eating much but I'll drop a few soaked pellets of epsom/water. At least I tried. He's in the tank alone so nothing should bother him other than me hehe.
