need ideas for large sa cichlids

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i could see major problem with some of the cichlids if breeding pairs formed or if they were males they would fight alot mainly talking about the terrors

the scomb wouldn't work we'll might get beaten up plus i'm sure you've heard about them dieing at before they reach 12''

make sure the pictus aren't pimelodus pictus they are way to small if they were a larger pictus species they would work fine

the dorado might beat on your other fish but with dithers its could be handled

the aros might fight alot as we'll go for a larger group to spred aggression out but only 1 black aro they fight like crazy

the geos may get beaten up as we'll

if you wan't to add some more cichlids try

parachromis ( NOT dovii )
vieja
Amphilphus are allways good in large tanks
bay snooks might work
don't forget about the cichliasomas

They're basically all centrals.

Some of the larger Geophagus species like brasiliensis and altifrons could work, and I'm sure a Hypselecara temporalis or two would go nicely in there.

how about like 12 peacock bass, 4 pikes and then all those catfish.

pbass!!!!!!! :headbang2:headbang2:headbang2

i doubt youd get a 900g tank.
unless its aa concrete pond with one viewing window

yea i would start a restock
and forget payara, youll be glad you did, they wont work well in a community tank

ive heard of many red tail payara in community tanks
what are some large pictus?
the tanks dimensions will be 10'x4'x3' lots of floor space
the tank will have lots of driftwood, plants(fake of course), and areas of open swimming room.

Ditch everything and get s2 silver arowana's, and male and female snook, and some big plecos!

i think that im gonna go with the mix in my sig any problems there
what is the problem with payaras?

all pictus's will be goners there are no realy large ones that stand a shot
