That could easily be the case, Both lead and copper spikes are preety common when old piping is disturbed. Even iron can cause fatal overdoses in strong enough concentrations.

I got to thinking about it, and lately the water in both tanks goes cloudy for a couple days after water changes. If they had to mess with the city water pipes for the new construction, could there be copper in my tap water from new pipes?
Red Devil;1092016; said:oh boy especially if you saw the tanks get cloudy.. the only way i guess would be to test the water.. but yes that definily seems like a possibility.. odd ball would be the one to tell you for certain what high copper would do to fish.. maybe send him a pm..
Yes it could be..and with this information you could end up helping alot of people.frnchjeep;1092522; said:Oh yeah...Do you remember the thread on Rally's black aro? The way it was acting right before it died? Well, a lot of these fish were doing the same thing as he described. If there is anything in the water, I'll have to get in touch with him, too. If I remember correctly, he never found out what happened there, either. Could be a possibility...

I hope to get some test results soon. If I need an R.O. system, I want to order it asap. My other tank needs a water change, and I don't have any usable water.
.we have everything removed from our water so it is just pure water now..frnchjeep;1095259; said:Didn't get any test results yet. I moved the remaining fish to a 10 gallon and bought R.O. water from the LFS. While I was there, I bought a filter pad that removes heavy metals. Happy to say that for the first time in a long time, I went a day without any deaths.I hope to get some test results soon. If I need an R.O. system, I want to order it asap.
