Can we trade parents?

+1!!! I would kill to have a 300g tank. But I can't do it upstairs in my room as the floors wont support 1 and anywhere downstairs is immediately without a second thought deemed 'NEVER going to happen' by my parents.

Their was a 4' X 4' X 3' 360g cube tank on craigslist 'round her back in January had everything, 2 fx5, leds, oak stand, etc and it was only 500$. Parents said no..... I beseeched them for weeks about it but eventually gave up. Probably never gonna happen...

That's a hell of a deal! Not sure what area u guys live in, but that's unheard of in my area.
A 240g would b great, but can't see it happening buying the whole setup retail for under $2k. So I'd definitely keep up on craigslist, may get a steal if hop on it fast enough

Yea the interesting part was it was up for almost an entire month. Omg I still moan over that deal... its been almost a year, I took screenshots of the deal and made it my homepage on my computer. Hard to let go.... :cries:

A 8'x2'x2' will be roughly 240 gallons then add a 50 gallon sump. That is, I dont know about tank pricing in your area. You have amazing parents. Just remember, this setup will be over 4,500 lbs when done.

The OP stated one of the dimensions has to be 24". He did not state it has to be depth. He also stated he was looking at 6 x 3 x 2. That's 3ft depth. 2ft tall is fine cuz u can place the tank on its side and can still move it through doors.

Yeah exactly.

Also guys this tank has to be able to hold a Florida gar for life so I'd like the tank to be at least 2' wide but no wider than 3'. Basically my parents agreed that for Xmas that they'll give me $1k and I can get whatever tank I want with that amount as long as it abides with the rules earlier. Anything after 1k will be dipping into my downpayment on my car.

Go for 3' wide bro. Wider foot print for monsters the better. Even 30" would be ok. I'd personally go with 3' tho:)
