8x2x1.5 is a 180. I would go bigger if you are allowed to go up to 300. Can you buy a 120 also beacuse you didn't go 300?

I don't think so. I already have 6 tanks. This would be the last one for now. Plus parents are making me take down one of my smaller ones. I'm going to try but a big tanks don't always pop up for the price I'm looking for.

That is pretty high, I would definitely hold out for a better deal...patience will pay off in the end. When you find the right deal you'll know it right then. It is your call though but I've overpaid for tanks before and I still regret it. It is a buyers market, politely offer low and if they say no move onto the next. There will always be another.

yeah i got a 150 with lights heater gravel and a rena xp3 for 150 dollars i think you can do it just put a wanted add on craigslist thats where i found mine good luck!

What about a 180 gallon tank with an oak stand/frame, glass lid, and two eheim 2217's for $600? I don't really like the size but is this a good price?

IMO thats a decent price if all equipment is in really nice condition. I personally would hold out for a 240-300gal setup. I setup a 240gallon about 6 years back for under 1200. It took a few months to get everything setup because I built the stand and filtration setup. I tried to do most things DIY and shop for equipment on craigslist. You have to have patients with a big project like that on a budget but the equipment you are looking for will eventually pop up on craigslist. I am not sure of your location but in california I didnt have to wait to long to find a good deal posted on craigslist. I think I paid around 450 for 240 back then and the remainder 750 for everything else to get it up and running. I have seen complete 240-300gal setups on craigslist for under 1200... just need to wait or be willing to travel.

If you cant wait and want a setup asap that 180g setup is a decent deal if the stand is professional looking and equipment is well maintain.

good luck

There's a 315 gallon 72"x36"x28" with stand for sale for $800 in Brantford Ontario, Canada. If u don't mind a road trip it seems like a fair price. Not too far from you either:) The tank is listed in the Canada Market boards. I'm pretty sure the price is negotiable.

Dang!! My parents only spend $100 on me for Christmas. I got my 220 with stand, lights, substrate, decor, plants, powerhead, filtration, and a lot of food and chemicals for $500 off of Craigslist. Check it out, they always have awesome deals.
