Needing some Serious Advice

Yeah I'd personally fill it to the top to prevent him from being pushed down but thats what i do with all my tanks. When you do this make SURE to place something heavy on the lid as he WILL jump. too much light may stress him out also so I'd just put in 1 bulb for now and shut them off when you go to bed.

Man..just leave him there. It's not like he doesn't have any space to swim around. But why 3 weeks to cycle that 100 gallon?. I cycled my 150 n had fish in it in about the 4th day using stress coat when I filled up the tank.. of course I bought about 4 cheap goldfish first on the 2nd day n they lived so I went and got my desirable fishes and they've been living ever since. Been a year

So im not cruel for keeping him in here for a couple weeks? lol im doing %20 daily water changes. I just wanna make sure the larger tank is perfect before i introduce my fish ;)

just cause they survied means nothin

i can run out buy a fish dump it in a tub with tap untreated water and itll still live. (done it before) its the long term damage to exposure to bleach and a sudden spike in amonia that we worry about

your fish still have space to move around FREELY so its not really bothering him. lol. of course the "experts" will say its cruel, but looking at the picture the fish has enough room to swim around however it wants and its just a temporary for a week.

**BUT** my opinion..don't do water changes everyday cause it get frighten

However, you do need to hurry up and set up the larger tank for it. Whats slowing you down?

Are you saying thats what im doing? This tank is fully cycled and as i said i was expecting a 3 inch fish not a 6. what options do i have left? hell i already feel bad enough for the fish..

lol?? untreated tap water. he's keeping his water quality good from the way he's describing

yes the 5 is, i plan on cycling the 125 with loaded filter sponges from other tanks..

Not sure what is meant by loaded, but is these filters are established from other tanks then there is no need to wait. Step up the tank and move the aro.

hey mate.. arofury.. nice fish.. no mistake of yours bro.. good to see you are taking care of the fish.. the yawning behaviour is more when they are hungry and not stressed.. i've seen all my aros do that.. from lil 4" to what they are now.. a little haste is def needed in this case.. prob try to move the fish in a week or two.. cheers.. or if it is as brian comments above.. do it now..
