I am in no way downing what you are doing, nor your choice of filter

well the way you're complaining it seems like it. you have literally spammed this thread with a bunch of posts, post after post.
look seriously i don't care about your negative opinions about the tank and the filtration.
am i going to hurt any fish by using the filters that i use? am i offending anybody by using the the amount of filters i'm using?

start complaning to your local lake or river before you complain about me and my filtration. again, this is NOTHING compared to what mother nature has.

heck; i'm actually adding 5 emperor 400 filters, just 'cause i like to see the bio wheels spin around. but then you're probably going to start arguing that it will be a waste of money. well maybe, but i like watching the bio wheels spin, do you have a problem with that?
You have a skewed sense of spam. I am telling you advice to help you. If you don't like advice, then don't post on open forums. I am trying to help you. Being a jerk to those trying to help you is a great way to have no friends, nor help in life. I am not complaining about it, I'm telling you that you are wasting those filters. Simple chemistry and biology will show you that, but if you are too dense to understand that, then have at it. Why don't you just add another 40 filters while your at it?

not sure about what you're talking about since i'm not reading all the long argument posts but since i do have 20 filters running i can do maintenance less often.
more filters=less maintenance, but long work time when the maintenance time actually comes

i can probably leave the filters alone for 3months

Again, learn from those that have experience, rather than writing our advice off. Eheim's are designed to be able to go months without maintenance. With 6 of those filters on the tank, you will be able to go 6-12 months without maintenance, and your water parameters will be non the worse.

Just want to say that your fish room is beautiful, great cabinet & really clean room.

Please keep us posted when you get your tanks set up.
Love to see the progress of your tanks and your new monster fish!

you have to check the inside of the cabinet when i finish installing all the filters.
i'm having a friend do it for me right now until i arrive.

Wow there are some real friendly people around here, who have all the answers and like to tell people how they should have spend their money :chillpill:

Like the man said, he worked hard for it and wanted to share it with us... be grateful for such cool pictures, I know I won't see 20 eheim's running like that again :p

Looks great - well, the filters running anyways :D I love the look of that room... you gotta visit Japan way more often with something like that!

seriously; it's as if i'm making them buy all the filters and pay for the monthly bills.
it's just jealousy...

i really don't care about all the negative comments. i liked yours though!

I am envious of the tank, the dedication and the available income and just the fact that you get to travel back and forth to Japan frequently. Obviously youre working hard I say enjoy it the way you want, not the way other people say you should. That being said, dont write off the experience behind their rationale regardless of personal feelings. This site is a wealth of info.

thanks for your comment!

. I can tell you're a perfectionist by the way everything is arranged, even having all the filters lined up perfectly for that pic. LOL. Just one more reason to visit Japan.

i think you would take that back when you see a picture of my room.lol

i only keep the things i like "tighty" the heck with the human room.lol

Telling someone how to spend their money is one thing, but advising them that they could run 14-16 150+ gallon tanks without buying anymore filtration is completely different.

well the advice isn't much. are you a marine biologist, or a icthyologist? or maybe a employee at the eheim company?

don't think so...
you're just telling everything by experience, and i'm sure you have never experienced the outcome results of having 20 filters on a 15' tank.

oh so i'm the jerk? well then maybe you should close this thread and ban me. fine with me. i have nothing to lose from that.

hmm maybe i won't add 40 more filters because another 40 would not fit inside the cabinet, and i don't want filters surrounding the whole entire tank. the green tubing is enough.
i guess YOU are too "dense" to understand the fact that this is my "dream". as i repeat, yet again. it has always been my wierd dream to PACK a cabinet with canister filters.
and i DO NOT know how to use sumps pumps wet dry filters.

ahh no; that's the pro 3 electronic version. but it won't go 6months, it'll tell you when to do maintenance.

have you ever checked the impeller of a eheim after leaving it alone for 6months?
I have and the flow rate was greatly reduced when i checked with a flow meter.

I will do as you asked, and close this as you are not willing to listen to advice. I speak from years of experience with these filters, as well as most others on the market, and most styles of filters. I have spoken with eheim's reps many times, and have worked in the aquatic field for years. A marine biologist or ichthyologist knows basic chemistry and biology, so should any highschool graduate. Your shallow attempts to demean those trying to help you show how little you know.

Finally, you again show your ignorance, in that eheim filters, as a whole, are designed to run many months without maintenance. I have run a 2080 for over a year without maintenance on a heavy stocked 150. That filter still runs just fine to this day, and has just as much power the day I first set it up, the day I cleaned it, and today. I also run both sizes of the pro 3e series, which aren't as big, nor able to last as long between cleanings.

I'm sorry, i felt bad that everybody has been saying how much of a waste that is....but WyldFya was trying to explain to you something that it does take quite a bit of time to learn in the biological filtering process, and you just instantly deem it as negative comments.

If you would have done a little bit of studying before hand you could have got better setup IMO (Sump, Refugium, Fluidize Bed Filter, Continuous drip system which would in effect make this a 0 maitenence setup) but you can do whatever you feel like.

What are you doing for water changes in this tank?

HOLY MOLY!!! Let the man do what he pleases. I freakin love the tank and will have something similar when MY money is right. (praying);):)

WyldFya was just giving you some helpful advice from his own experience. Maybe if he proves true then you can unhook some of them from the big tank and use on other tanks that you have. But I agree you got flamed pretty hard about the filters.

Your money, your dream, do what you want. I would!!!:) but a little patience and some research can go a long way.

why is the thread open? is he stocking the tank?
