As promised, picture of the new fishes. Sorry for the poor quality. No idea how people can take such good picture when they are constantly moving.
The fish added are

Aristochromis Christyi - 4.5 inch - the fin looks round and not pointy and not much color. Sold to me as male. Not sure.
Lethrinops Intermedius - 4.25 inch
Malawi Gar - 5.5 inch
Mylochromis Lateristriga - 5.5 inch
Placidochromis Milomo VC10 - 5 inch
Placidochromis Electra - 4.5 inch
Redfin Boyeri - 6 inch
Placidochromis Tarzanian Star Sapphire - 4 inch
Copadichromis Azureus - 4 inch
They have finally calm down a little. Hopefully will work out and no females.

Thanks

I've never kept a Chrstyi. Its big enough that the vendor should be able to recognize its gender.
Looks like things are going very well.

One of OB was doing the spawning act with almost every new fish, not the existing one. Also, my VC 10, all the stripes went away when doing this with the OB. Also my OB is starking the Electra. I took it out temporary and put it in the 100. The stripes on the VC 19 came back right away and no one is doing the spawning circling anymore. A lot calmer instantly. Does that mean my OB is a female? I had it for a long time and never see this before and it never hold and have pointing fins and a lot of blue. Have always thought it’s a male.

My other OB who has always been a whimp, all of sudden took over the left 1/3 of the tank after I took out the first OB. Now all my fish are stay in the middle of the tank.

This all male tank thing is a lot harder than all my previous tanks.

Probably not mating behavior, likely territorial dominance behavior. Every fish is trying to establish a high spot in the heirarchy. Things will level out in a week or so.

Ok, will give the new fish couple of days to acclimate, then try reintroduce the OB. It’s one of my original batch and I like to keep it in there if possible.

do you think this is a male? About 4-4.25 inch sold to me as male. Christyi.View attachment 1411340
Tought to say, generally when you get a fish that size they wait until they have a pretty good guess when venting so it's most likely a male. In the picture its tough to see but a blueish shimmer on the cheeks and red tips on the anal fin is the first sign without netting the fish. Then the body will take on a blue and youl known for sure since the females remain extremely drab.

On another note I've always wanted a fish

Thanks, I will wait and see in time if it gains color. I have not see it doing any spawning with other fish so hopefully a male.
It’s one of the fish I wanted the most, so will suck if it’s a female.

Hi, question regarding re-introducing the fish I took out. So after I took out couple of the existing fishes. The German Red, OB, etc.. and I took out the huge drift wood, moved it to the 100 and moved some large rocks into the 125. The fishes are a lot more calmer and swimming are entire tank. Don't really fights that more if any.

So my question, how long should I wait before re-introducing the German Red and the OB back to the tank or should I not add them back?

And if I re-add them, it will be only 2 fishes, will they get bully to death by the other fishes?

thanks
