Buying a 180G tank from a guy who has 3 others that are bigger. He breeds fresh water stingrays and is throwing one in for free.

My primary fish is the Arowana. How many can/should I keep in that size tank?

Possible tank mates (besides stingray):
~Lung Fish (I hear clean-up can be rough and I am not in love with them)
~King Tiger Pleco
~Fresh water Barracuda/Dog Characin OR Gar
~Green Terror

Any and all advice on the mix of fish that should be put in or additional options would be much appreciated. As stated, my focus is on the Arows, so I do not want to crowd the tank to the point it inhibits their growth

What kind of arowana are you planning for this 180g tank?

"hiding spot"? No comprende

The size of the other fishes will depend on the size of the Arows.

Asian. I wish.

Probably, like you, a black arow. Not sue of their rep in the community, but riverwonders.com has 5-10'' blk arw in stock.

I like silver, but black better. The Platinum Arow may be the most spectacular. Are they hard to come by?

platinums are extermely hard to come by and if your getting a ray go for a sliver they can be kept with your ray

Asian Aros are illegal in the U.S.

Eventually a black aro will outgrow your 180g tank, it will take a few years though. Good rule of thumb for arowana is to have a tank with a length 3x that of the aro and a width/depth at least equal to that of the aro.

So with that said a 180g will support an aro upto 24", with a black or silver you could grow a little bigger though, maybe 27 or 28".

Hard to come by? Expensive? Or both? How much we talkin? I have spent on a dog what many men have spent on an engagement ring. I realize long term staisfaction of an impeccable animal. Any info on these or the Red Arows would be gret.

Are you saying other Arows would mess wit da ray?! Platinum? Reds? Blacks? They are all "Ill-Tempered"? "With fricken laser beams on their heads?":clap:D
