Asian Aros are illegal in the U.S.

I thought it was implied in my sarcastic remark that I was aware of this. None the less, thanks for the clarification.

I Said: "Asian. I wish."

I would forget about platinums...super hard to find and if you do you could probably get a Ferrari cheaper. I would get the black one you were taking about. I would just get 1 arowana.

Wow. That is quite a statement. And yes, I will take the car please. Even though highly exaggerated, your statements plus the fact I have seen $3000 KIO?!?!?! Makes me think your advice is sound sir.

...I hear you can get "that platinum effect" by submersing them in full strength bleach for 30 min....this must be the way to go, right?

(please do not call the ASPCA. I am being an ***):naughty:

If you search the arowana forum, I believe the is a thread about a platinum selling for 50,000 dollars.

Sexing silver/black arowana is near impossible. There is also about a 50% chance the two aros will fight constantly.

How could you even think of Lung Fish as a possible tankmate?

Unless you want to see your arowana in pieces

x.x

Come again mate? You are telling me a lung fish is going to give a 10" black arow a problem? Last time I checked they were pretty mild mannered.:feedback:

Lungfish have been known to have a strong bite. Although they spend alot of time just...laying there, they have the ability to attack at any random time, and when they do it's pretty much a one-shot kill. I've read earlier of someone who had a problem with their lungfish crushing their air stones.

Are you getting a stingray as well? There may be issues with the pleco I'm not sure, but I hear of flagtails sucking the slime off of rays...plecos may do the same.

And in terms of breeding arowanas...it's extremely difficult. I think their sexual maturity age is around 5 years old, and they prefer large ponds to do so. Also, sexing aros are almost impossible as well, so it's purely luck...Farms just throw in a ****load of mature aros into a pond and eventually they may breed. If you're lucky enough to grow or pick out a mature male and female, and have them breed in a tank, I would honestly love to see a video of their behaviour.
