New 2 x Leo Stingray with disappointing result......

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
next time ask for feeding vids before you purchase any expensive fish that are being shipped to you.

this is what i do before i ship out any of my rays. just to be clear to both parties, seller and buyer that the ray im selling is 110% before i ship out.

i also got a pup from trev a few months back. the ray was purged before shipment but when i got her shipped to me, the ray would not have to eat for a while! she was so fat! he also took a video before i paid for the ray. i think a video is a must to see the fish in its PRESENT condition before shipping out. just to be clear with both the sellers and the buyer.

hope your rays start eating the blackworms!!! next time, just get a pup from trev!

If the pix you recieved showed them fatter and healthier looking whether the pic is 1 day old or a week old ,he was doing what was need to take care of them.He's obviously is helping out as much as possible,and thats all you can ask for.Like i said 3 days ,closer to 4 is not good for a pup,but he thought he was doing what was needed to make sure they got to you alive.After accliamting does not mean they will settle right in and eat right away { some do some dont }Like anything they need time ,you seperated them and thats the best thing you could do,gives them time to get used to the sorroundings,different water conditions,temps etc.Personally id leave them wright where they are and let them settle in and eat before moving them again,you'll be adding more stress to them than whats needed.The only thing i see is with threads like this is people commenting on things they shouldnt be ,instead of helping ,some people whip out the pitch forks and wanna burn the other party before knowing the whole story { always 2 sides }
Remember take a deep breath and take your time with them and think every move out before you do it and they should be just fine.

Try shallow glass bowl big enough for the ray to get in it fill it with 1" gravel than put black worms in it for them than step back away from the tank and wait good luck.

I think putting in the egg crate was a good move, It sounds like you are doing all the right things I expect to hear some good news soon. Threads like these make me even happier that Trev is breeding rays about 15 miles from me :)

I did the best as i could but result is a failure. Next time, i only buying from reliable source..... now and forever. Got f** by people too much. Pissed!!

I would not move them until they are eating. Just keep up with the water changes and trying different foods. Keep the lights off

I didnt want to move them. The smaller ray is in the worst condition. She is actually doing 360 flips, which i assume she is a goner.

I saw video and picture but it doesnt really preventing them from sending you something old or stop them from sending you something else. Where is all the honest people at? Work my ass off for 2-3 week and this is what i received. My next order will be from brent or travis....that I promise!!

Prior to paying for them, I constantly ask if they are in good condition. Are they eatting well? I was assured they are in top condition and is eatting. And yes, there is always 2 side to this.... And yes he is reading this thread, because he text me about it. Saying he is sorry. I keep all emails and text as reference :)

I wish the best of luck for you man....I hope they pull through...

Sad news....the smaller one is dead and the other one is doing 360 like how the small was doing and layin sideway; which i assume she is a gonner too. My old rays are refusing to eat now, which worry me... I really hope they didnt catch anything. 2x Pissed..........

Here are some clearer pic using my src camera. Look at these beauty.....NOT!! "Purge for 3 day for shipping" per seller

wow, they look worse then i thought by the first picture... Sorry man, that sucks.. Leo's are normally one of the toughest rays. The dent in the forehead of the last picture is unacceptable.

did you try black worms? did they not touch them?

Pups with that condition should never be shipped to begin with. They just needed a little purge before shipping to reduce waste in the bag. You can prevent the waste by putting extra water in the bag. I've seen seller trying to save money by putting little water to save shipping (those that sells with shipped price) and it cause the water to foul very quickly. Those rays look familiar, I am 90% sure I know who sold them to you...

When I ship a pup, I'd ship with minimum 2-3 gallons of water per pup and I usually starve them for 1-2 days MAX.

I am sorry to hear about them, it's not impossible but it's hard to get them to rebound after that shocks.

I think you should name the seller so people wont get ripp off in the future like what happened to you. The only person that your are helping by the revealing is just the seller himself.

if you really want to save them it can be done, received a wild female in worse conditon then that with her disc ripped in half, plus deep dented forehead, honestly just put live black worms, raise temp to 88f and and air pump, you have sand which is a great idea, but leave the lights off. If nothing i have suggested to you works then i am truely and very sorry, but please i know the seller sent you them in the worst of conditions, but they are in your care now so just try your best. Im rooting for you and them HTH.
