new 310 gal tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sweet! Great you finally got it home. If your thought is to lift it with straps with your tractor, be careful the straps don't bow the glass inwards. We had an issue with that, I thought my tank would snap. So we braced the straps with 2x4's, so the straps didn't squeeze the tank. Hope that helps, post pics on the move...thanks.

sorry! still in the garage. had to make a new stand for my 225 so i could build it into the wall in the basement. so this week if its not raining ill be making the move. i needed to get the 225 out of the way so i could put the 310 in that space. i also made a stand for the 310. my tractor has forks on it so i made a skid to put under the tank and am gonna slide it down the stairs on that and some other plankes. should be interesting. i really need to get it into the basement asap

well heres a pic of the 310 in the basement. i have other pics but i cant get them to load correctly. idk ill work on it

Looks good, know it was a heavy monster. Just got a 300 from Glass Cages. Hardly got it off the truck, tank, sump, stand totaled 1145 lbs empty. Was gong in my basement but missed judged the stairs, endend up in my living room. Fortunately a steel I beam in close to it.

Good luck with the tank.

Wow! Nice tank, now I'm not as excited about picking up my new to me 75 gallon acrylic tomorrow

sorry this is taking forever! you would think it would go fast but it never does. ive been consentrating on my salt water tank which is coming along! finally. i have put all seven bulk heads in the 310 and have tested for leaks. so far so good. i have also put 200lbs of pool filter sand and a few rocks and bubblers in as well. i have a few tuffies swimming in there for now just for ha ha's. i am going to maine on vacation this coming week and am hoping to find a bug stump from some tree that beavers have chopped down in the river on my grampas farm which i think will set the tank off! i cant wait to get the fish in this tank and they r deff going nuts in the 135 as they are all getting bigger. i still need to make a filter for this tank. i am hoping to use one sump for the 310 and 135 as they are my freshwater tanks and they will be close to eachother. i realize that if one tank has issues they both will but i feel this will be easier and cheaper in the long run. once again sorry for taking soooooo long!

Don't be sorry, I think we all just like to see projects come along as fast as they can. Just post when you can. Two tanks off one sump? I don't care what they say, it's cheaper in the long run and it works. This is my 388gal. and fish room, half done, life just gets in the way of our hobby. Keep up the good work.
