  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Now that I've seen the pic, I'd go with rays.

I recon a few big cats, a RTC would be very cheap and would grow very very quickly and would drawn in attention and maybe a few other big cats?
Big cats would be cool too, as BWBruce said...
You'd get great size quick.
I wonder how they'd look from the top down...;)

That is what I figured-
188"X188"X25"=883600 cubic inches. International standards lists 230 cubic inches per US gallon. That turns out to 3841 gallons, less my computed volume for the island and the filter intake I came out with 3620 gallons, I simplified to 3500 for ease of reference (who wants a 3620 gallon pond?). I figure with rocks/plants/driftwood I will still be within my 3500 gallon figure.

Just curious where you get the 2,300 figure?

I have taken a bunch more pictures, including some of the pump/filter, just haven't had time to post them yet.

I still need to figure out what sort of media to use in the filter- it had a pool filter in it that was put in after they got rid of the sand.
I will post pics today and see if anyone has any ideas. Also trying to figure out what the best option for UV filter is- doing it downstairs in the pump room will be more complicated, but currently there is no power in the atrium so a submersible filter/pump combo may not be an option either. We are currently looking for an electician, but do not have one yet (several other projects require one).

I misread your initial statement; I thought you said it was 15" deep (went back and saw it is 25"). I hoped I was able to delete the post before anyone caught my DUMBA$$ mistake!

My Bad.

No worries- just wanted to make sure I did my math right. :-)

I need a somewhat correct volume so I can get my chemicals right- going to clean, drain and refill tonight. Then I need to add the chlorine removers. Cycling will probably not happen until I get some filter media and possibly a second filter. UV is a priority as well as I want nice clear water.

Cheers!

i wonder if a barramundi would work?
it would become mre of a company pet than anything else
