Nice, Like how you did the bottom panel. How is it attached and is it easily removable for maintenance?

Have thought of a conopy for mine as well (hate acrylic lids). My thought is to build it in two sections (unattached). Front and back. Would attach some flat trim where the unattached sections join to hide the seam. Would make both sides of the canopy using 2x2 for the frame to keep it light enough to remove easily.

Designed it to were all I have to do is pick up on it two inches and then it comes off. Very easy to get into to.

Ya the more I look at it, the more I think it does need a canopy. Thinking of how I want to design it though. Since I have the Aro, I will still haveto keep the acrylic covers over the openings, but I think it would make the tank look alot better if it had a short canopy to cover it and hide the light. I have to make it easy to get into since most night my wife feeds the tank.

Love the tank.. really awesome..

I am certainly following your canopy ideas as I also feed my fish myself and I do hand feed some of them so getting in there with a heavy canopy is a mission !!!
