New 55gal tank

Ok thanks y'all for easing my worries!!! I have about 70 lbs in it and that's all I want! That gives me about 2 to 2 1/2 inches of sand.

I also worry about when I do stir it, it will get cloudy again when there is fish in it!!

it will probably cloud up a little, probably not much though. just stir it enough to move the sand at the bottom a little maybe once a month or 6 weeks... this will keep air pockets from turning to toxic gas, and don't worry if you forget for a while it takes a long time to go toxic (several months most likely)

So I got my filter in today!!! BROKEN in the box! Canister was cracked and the pieces were laying in the bottom of the box!! SO its already shipping back to Amazon!!! :swear::WTF::angryfire:thumbsdow (have to wait 5 days to find out if I get a refund 3day to ship back and 2 days to decide) Man, I am pissed!!!

Thanks, also how do I go about putting in a bubbler? Under sand? Above sand? Whole lengh of tank?

if your talking air bubbles , just get a long air stone and a nice air pump...they aren't expensive ,,,,,pump $10-20.. stone$3-7,, last I looked.. AMAZON OR PETSMART ,,,,:)hide the airline as best as you can and just kinda "smooch" the stone down into the sand and cover it up a little

that's a good filter... just be careful during setup and cleaning , those latches break easy if you forget the quickstop valve shutoff .. that's why I LIKE the xp3 HARD TO MESS IT UP ONCE IT'S GOING ....AMAZON is good with refunds , as long as you aren't trying to pull something over on them they are really reliable:) I Have also had shipping issues with AMAZON, it has worked out well every time however

see post #37:popcorn: I have ruined 3 of those bad-boys thru the years ..it's common.. it could happen to lots of different filters , this one does it a little more often ..it does work well though other than that... another good option , if you don't mind hang-on -back filters AQUA CLEAR 70'S 2 of them on your 55 will be OUTSTANDING filtration for about $85 bucks ,, AND THEY PROBABLY WILL LAST THE LIFE OF YOUR TANK
