Consists of a marbled motoro, the arowana, an ornate and delhezi bichir and a spider kelberi. Planning to get a Florida gar tmrw and that would be my final stocking before letting them grow out ?
Lol, every time I read this advice about the ol' "dead-food-on-a-string" trick...and I've used and suggested it many times myself...I always expect to read about this particular thing cropping up. Finally...here it is! And with a pic!
Don't sweat it; no harm done. For the record, I just use a threaded needle to poke a hole through the prey item, pull a few inches through the hole, and cut off the needle. If you use a coarse enough thread (might even require a knot at the end of the thread) and a fine enough needle, the "bait" will stay on the thread until the fish takes it. Then you can just pull the thread through without any drama, or simply let the fish pull it off. Usually only takes a few such exercises before they start grabbing the food on their own, without all the subterfuge.
Sadly it passed away. It managed to hang on with its broken back for 5 months and it didn’t heal ?. When I checked out it’s dead body, I found out it lost almost all its teeth, thus probably leading it to eat not being able to eat and dying. I still can’t figure out why it happened.
