New baby clown loach - Am I dealing with a sick loach?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I uploaded a short video as well where you can see the loach. Sorry for the angle, couldn't get him from a better angle....but its clear his colour looks somewhat normal now.

RD. RD.

Should I dose another dose of flubendazole do you think? I am doing a water change right now as we speak and can't decide....The meds call for one dose, then wait 4 days, then dose another for heavy infestations...

You need to wait, then medicate again which will ensure that any potential remaining eggs get nuked.

When in doubt, follow directions. :)

Thanks.

These are the directions, two doses 4 days apart.....so it seems I might as well, just in case or I'll miss the window...

I dosed the second dose already :) Let's hope all turns out ok for this loach and this med sorts his issues. ...He's a fighter and I learned a bit from the experience too :)

I dropped food while I was doing a water change, and he kept eating alongside the SAEs :)

Hey. The clown loach is doing really good now. The colour as of today is almost completely normal. It is now orange and almost as dark orange as the rest of the loaches:) One can especially notice his fins getting brighter as well as they were very dull initially. I also think he's putting on weight very fast :) He's looking better each day I look in the tank :)
I will take a better video/picture in a while when he's fully recovered but it seems to me the almost 3 months journey is a success :) Don't give up on your sickly clown loaches ;)

Thanks for following.

Thanks guys. I am really delighted with the outcome. :) I knew I was asking for trouble buying a loach looking that bad, and chucking meds at fish doesn't always work out but thankfully this time it did :)
