new bass problems

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You need to lower the ph....I had bass act weird like yours due to the ph being to high. I dropped it down to 6.6 - 6.8 and he stopped the weird behavior.

Keep a close eye on the tank with all those goldfish in there. Young pbass need great water conditions to thrive. Goldfish will perform the opposite of that for you.

Another thing you could do to make him more comfortable is give him somewhere to hide. I have a little stump that my smaller bass use when there scared. Ive found if they feel safe there more likely to come out and interact with you and the other fish. Even if it is just to eat them.:D

i agree. My bass had plenty of places to hide. He was comfortable to say the least. He was like a dog begging for a treat when i came around.

...and he probably needs some brothers and sisters to hunt together

Good to see your Cichla's doing better. I think it was an ammonia spike from when you changed filters.

yeah hes all good and il get him a stump for hiding. what are other good temporary tankmates for pbass?
more pics soon.....

I usually have a pbass only in my growouts. But i recently added some silver dollars to my tank and the guys seem to like the company. They have fun chasing the school around and it seem to make them more comfortable with other fish swimming around. I have to warn you if you have live plants the silver dollars will eat them. There appitite is a voracious as the pbass.:nilly:

Nevermind on the silver dollars i just went back and saw you have a 30gal. Thats to small for a school of SD. Mabey someone else has some suggestions.

yeah my tank is small, how lond can i keep him in the 30g ? what size can u use as a permanent home for him.
