lol... i wasnt disappointed in the growth of my other one i already knew they grew slow, its just i realised i was going to have a seemingly empty tank for a good few years, this one fills its space a bit better. plus he should grow to a more impressive overall size.
Rhoms are prone to worm in the aquarium so i will be making sure i eradicate them, so they cant slow the growth anymore

i honestly don't think that fish will get over 10 or 11 inches, it just doesn't happen with rhoms in captivity. if you really want a 16" rhom, you need to go out and buy a 16" rhom.

well we will see. most dont treat their rhoms for worm, but all rhoms get worm in the home aquarium which seriously hinders growth rate. i have seen a mate of mines rhom grow 1 inch in one month after the first treatment for worm. obviously the growth rate doesnt carry on at that rate, but its just an example of how much worm can affect the growth of a rhom

you dont need to know. honestly any rhom in a home aquarium for 6 months or more will have worm.
the one i have has just been imported 2 weeks ago so he probly doesnt yet.... but he will

a lot of people treat for internal and external parasites, which is what i assume you meant by "worms", in fact, a lot of people treat for parasites with salt or prazipro as soon as they get them, so that is definitely not a logical reason for people not attaining huge sizes in captivity. the fact is that to get the growth rate required to reach that size, you would need a massive tank and you would need to have perfect water conditions and diet. it just doesn't happen.

"a lot of people treat for internal and external parasites"
no really, they dont
rhom are prone to worm all through there life, and yes much more than other fish and other piranha. it does have a large impact on there growth rate, im not saying if u treat them for worm 'properly' (not with salt) they will grow as quick as red bellies, but it does help to boost growth rates. if u had worms u wouldnt grow either. we will see how quick he grows with 4 monthly worming medication, good diet and plenty of current. this applies from when he gets in his new bigger tank this summer.
i will keep u posted on his growth rates

some new full length pics of him. srry glass is a bit water smeared from work i just did

are you seriously trying to tell me that people don't treat their fish for parasites? this is just getting ridiculous...
