I had an ery do something similar, took a few days for it to pass the whole time it kept jumping into the glass lid banging its head, turned out to my heater was the issue

I've only had mine a couple of weeks and he is insanely confident, even after moving him to a different tank he ate straight away.

Lucky. I like how active channa are and there is a pretty good variety of them.

The heater was messed up from the fish bumping it previously. Was releasing charge into the tank. I took it out and the ery stopped but still passed after a few days from the head trauma

If he’s eating shrimp, he’s not too far from accepting pellets. Try to insert them into the shrimp and then slowly serve less and less of the shrimp until the wolf takes just Massivore.
I love my black wolf. He waits for dinner like a puppy who wants treats. Very personable fish. Just definitely not for a community tank.
