Wow!! So I'm sure the breeding I've heard about happening in the UK is true then! That makes me so happy I've fallen in love with panaques because of Harvey I'm going to start a community grow out 200 gallon for a couple different panaques any reccomendations Or favorites?
 
Really nice fish. Prices seem to go up and down quite a bit depending on import restrictions and demand. Right now they are low compared to the last several years. Great fish though and still alot of.money at $400 hundred for a much smaller one than you have.

5 or 6 years ago I saw a lfs try and sell one for $1500, pretty crazy.

For other Panaques look at L27 araguia. My fav. Goodluck
 
I have to say I understand someone trying to charge 1500$ for one because of the 20 years they took to grow it to this size I know It would build up sentimental value with me. Never would pay that price though and I'm sure no one else would. And I'm sure when you order them from freshwater tropicals they will only be a couple inches. So I wouldn't exactly say your wrong warborg because there's a big difference in price between a 20 year old panaque and a baby because of how long they take to reach maturity
