new breeding attempt (lots of pics long load for 56k)

they love the gravel. :D anyway, they are getting along good now. their colors are getting more intense and the female is getting alot more red and showing her bars. i think there may be eggs tomorrow. here are some more pics. btw, tomorrow i am going to move the other fry into a good tank for pictures.

these pics don't show her bars yet. they keep vibrating and displaying for each other. the male "Lou" keeps extending his lower jaw and pushing out what would be his double chin.
 
no eggs yet. they are getting along really well. there is the occasional bite or minor aggression, but they are flowerhorns, so it is to be expected.
 
just watch them,might get a agressive. classic size where you leave home for a day of school/work then come hoem to a beat up fish!

i know. that is what happened when i tried to cross this female with a jd. he kicked the crap out of her when i was at work. she completely lost her tail and her front fins. luckily i got home in time. these two are really getting along good though. they are swimming in unison alot and even share frozen blood worms without fighting. i think they should spawn fairly soon, but you never know.
 
Dude I have one question and one question only, I apologize if I seem rude but.... WTF is the hurry man? I believe that you have a male and a female! If that is infact a male its a potentially nice male. Why not grow him out and pump him up? Also be careful, if they do spawn and your female is strong, shes going to kill your male.
 
hhhmmm... They look both females to me but everybody make mistakes. Anyway, good luck on this project. keep us posted!

i don't think that is rude at all. thanks for the compliment on the male and the concern. there is no real hurry. i just wanted to try to pair them while they are young. the female has amazing color and these pics don't do her justice at all. i was hoping to get them to breed because i have about 40 fry from this male and my parrot. i want to get the best male from this pair and breed it with the best female from my fry. then i will let him be by himself for a while. IMO he has a great body and nice fins and he is obviously pearly. he is just lacking color. he has a pink tint to him but that is it. so anyway sorry for the book, but it sounded like you wanted more info.
 
ok i just did a 50% WC and her breeding tube is out. the male is cleaning up the flowerpot and trying to get her to come in. there should be some nice fry from these two. no mps but nice. i am grateful for the timing because i have time to watch them during the weekend.
