Hey nice cats i have one also but the store sold them to me under the name (shovle-nose gar) haha i knwo they arnt gar but thats what ive been calling them

Thanks. That's weird that they thought they were gars, they really look nothing alike (well, except for the slender bodies I guess).

This is a little of topic, but is it normal for them to shed a thin layer of skin? Because I noticed a thin peice of skin coming off of one of the limas on Saturday night, then when I checked on them the next morning, both looked completely normal.

It's been two days since it happened and I haven't seen any other symptoms. And like I said, it looked completely normal the next morning.

Dont worry, its perfectly normal. They shed a thin layer of skin every now and then. Its slimy and almost looks like the fish is smoking.
