Thanks!

More pic's ! Both are getting along well and going through a bit of a growth spurt again since being placed in the bigger tank, the females getting closer to 5" now while the males about an inch shorter, the male also seems to be getting darker as he settles in...

This looks like the pair I got, Im having trouble finding what they like to eat, Ive tried bloodworms, brine shrimp, prawn, pellets, etc. They seem fussy

Those Gachua are out of this world! I find people tend to underrate them, sadly.

Lovely setup and fish!! Any latest pics? :)

Cheers,

Karthik

Thanks , not much new pic wise but ill work on it , probably will get updated shots of all my channa once i get a computer again lol. This pair is still living together but no breeding , female hasn't killed the male but certainly does not let him near her. I plan to move them into a new and larger tank and introduce 3 more from the same locality (i belive MMF) all around the same 4" mark. Hopefully the new home and mixing of 2 groups will trigger a pair to bond and breed for me !

I also agree , Gachua are highly underrated. In my experience they often look drab because they are kept warm. I keep these guys on the low end of sub tropical same temps as my others, with very cold winters and they always have amazing color.

Food wise I feed mine meal worms as a staple. They will eat anything at all , i mix in pellets (trout chow), meaty/chopped foods like shrimp and fish, they even eat whole peas (intended for a goldfish that they live with but they are pigs and eat most of it lol)

If not eating its almost always stress related , not enough hides, bright lighting, tankmates or high temps are the usual culprits.
