Well, the car overall including chasis, brakes, and overall power is much better then the SI. It is brought over because of the rarity of it and to promote the JDM aspect of it.

You still didn't answer the original question. It seens that, in my terms, this thing is like buying a Jeep Rubicon. You could overpay for something pre-built, or you could buy a regular wrangler, do some work to it, and end up with a better toy for less. After all, isnt that what the import scene is all about? Modification? If you were to buy an SI, put some springs, struts, swaybars, braces, and brakes into it, as well as some engine mods, couldn't you end up with a faster, better handeling car for less than it would cost to have one of those shipped from japan to the us?

I've been looking for an excuse to post this:
That's hilarious! I've seen it posted before on a couple of Subie forums I visit and it cracks me up every time. Those VTech motors sure can rev, but, with their profound lack of low end torque, you really have to drive them like you're mad at them to make them feel "fast." If I had an S2000, I'd have that tach needle above 5K all the time, something I rarely do in my turbo Legacy wagon.

i dont think it has anything to do with the money. i mean anyone in the US can get an SI but a jdm type R is rare especially a new one like that. right hand drive yo.

But wouldn't you be embarrassed when you get spanked by an SI? I never really cared for a status symbol. If I pay that much for a car, it better be effin fast. Not 22 horsepower more than the model that is readily available...

i'd be embarressed if i got spanked by anything FWD, i'd crawl into bed and wouldn't talk to anybody for 3 days. FWD= f*ing whale dung" imo.

i love when i spin in circles constantly aswell.

catch that?

i would be embarressed, but wouldnt you think someone who buys a type R would mod it too? i mean who buys those types of cars to keep them stock. its not just about going fast. but the appearance as well.
