i would be embarressed, but wouldnt you think someone who buys a type R would mod it too? i mean who buys those types of cars to keep them stock.

hell i'd sell the car and get something of use, how much do type r's go for?

Well, I'm gonna bail on this one. I think my point got lost here, and I don't want to ruin this guy's thread with all my negative posts on his car. I was just trying to find out the difference, and it kinda turned into a debate where I am putting down his car. That was not my intention. I can appreciate that it is unique in our country. The right hand drive thing is kinda funky, too. I guess it is a slick ride if that is your thing.:)

You lucky basturd!

That thing is SEXY!!:woot::thumbsup::naughty:

Damn....

When I first saw the title I thought we were going to see a written of civic :(

Thanks for the waste of time

But wouldn't you be embarrassed when you get spanked by an SI? I never really cared for a status symbol. If I pay that much for a car, it better be effin fast. Not 22 horsepower more than the model that is readily available...

I had something typed out but i got a new keyboard, somehow I deleted it mid paragraph... so all im going to tell you is this.

You just don't understand.... its a true Type R.

thats all there is to it. Just really hard to get your hands on, but yeah im very, very certain this car is going to be pretty pimped out, and it'll have a nice edge over the other civics due to its design.

Meh... Id really, really like a 240sx, I love their look but id feel obligated to drift rather then take it to a track... If it were in my price range, id have to go for a WRX STI, Evo (True evo) or Type R. All 3 seem fun as hell for track use to me. id love to test them out someday.

Nice car! I would love to spend a few hours at the track with this car and any one who knows me knows I dont really like FWD but this is one the cars that falls onto my short list of FWD cars I wouldnt mind owning. My favorite import is the soon to be realeased Nissan GTR, now that thing is gonna give some the high end companys hell.

I appreciate all you comments. This is a discussion after all. I am not offended at all by your comments. Let me clarify why this car if so different then the SI or the Mugen SI that you have here in the states. First of all I like the way the CTR looks over the Si. The headlights on the US version just dont do it for me. Secondly, how often do you have a 4 door sedan that beats all the type R expect the NSX on all road courses. The Type R even beat the S2K on a 3 lap road course run. There are alot of similarity of the
SI to the CTR but when you look at the over product there is a huge difference. The Structure of the car is not the same. The overall body and sitffness of the car is huge. Secondly the braking, the CTR has brembos on the front and rear. There are alot of cars that you can buy that can out perform this car but for a stock 4 door sedan, this car is hard to beat. Also please keep in mind that this is a business, There is always a reason why a buisness would persue a highly sought after machine to differentiate themselves from the competitiion.

Rakie touched on this a little too..
But ^^ Most important about that car is the rarity and "Ooooo" factor. In hopes that people saw your car, remember your business had it and in turn remember your business name. To those who don't understand remember it was bought as a show car by a business, not by a private person who wanted the most bang for the buck.

As far as what the whole import scene is all about. You can't narrow it down to one thing that people do with imports. There are various smaller scenes within the whole "import scene" where different people have different objectives.

Another thing alot of people not in the import scene will realize is there's a whole "jdm" fad that's been going on for a while. Where people pay big $$$ to get their hands on parts that are only sold in japan and their main goal is to make their car look as much as the japanese counterpart as possible. Something that Zerg's business helps aid people in doing.
