my catemaco's from don show no aggression at all towards each other, and just do alittle chassing of the other tankmates, but does no damage at all . I have had them over a month now and still no problems with aggression. They ar the most mellow ca's i ever had my pearsi's show more aggression than they do.Which ones did you get looks like the gold flake catemaco. Great fish

Thanks for the info.

The trio I got are definately more aggressive then the Argentea and Regani. That is to be expected though. I haven't seen them really try to hurt each other or anything else but they definately chase each other and posture up a lot more then the others I got. They have a lot of water to play in though so I'm not sure I will see much aggression unless I move them to a much smaller tank. I will say they are the most active out of any of the fish I ordered. They swim all over the place and are constantly on the move. If someone is looking for some movement in there agressive CA tanks they would be a good fish to add.

I have my pair in a 125 with a pearsi and a few sd's they did the chasing thing at first but after a while they calmed down once established who was boss. After that they are very social and yes they do stay on the move. Tip:keep some algae in your tank they like to nibble of it until they start to eat well,my female still scrapes the algae off the driftwood even now.

man nice order! The Regani are a fish that I have been eyeing for my CA tank. cant wait til you get these to breed!

Will do. The argentea all ate good this morning. The others are still getting adjusted. I have tried romane lettuce as well and they did eat a little of it. It just takes some time for adults to settle in. I'm not worried unless they are not eating well 1 week after I get them.

The umbee's have started to take frozen krill. They still will not eat untill I leave the room but it is disappearing so I know they are eating it. Nothing like a diet of Krill and convicts to get a fish growing;).

Thanks jworth!! We will just have to see how it gows with them. They are not known to be really easy to breed but I'm hoping for the best. They are definately stunning fish. The Catemaco's are definately going to lay soon. If they don't eat the eggs I will have fry from them soon. The black and white female has been sparring with the male since yesterday morning and was cleaning a spot off this morning when I left.

I emailed Don and asked about the Catemaco to see if they are what is consider Piebald fenestratus by others. I am assuming they are.

Thanks for all the comments everyone and none of these discusions are bothering me one bit so don't worry about getting off topic or asking questions about any of the fish or there origins. Questions often lead to answers and that is good for everyone.

Gold Flake? Dare I ask? I got my shipment from DCT via cichluvr yesterday. 10 fat Bartoni, a pair of P. Guttulatum and a pair of N. Grammodes. All very healthy and eating this morning.

Do you recommend that book Chris? I need to add a few books for CA fish. If not that one what would you recommend that is still available?

The Fenestratus Catemaco male spawned with the black and white female sometime last night. Looked like they had around 800 eggs in one of the flower pots. If they make it to the wiggler stage I will pull them so they don't get eaten. I'm kind of interested to see what color fry those 2 would produce. I'm hoping a bunch of wild looking tri colored babies but you just never know. Not sure what in the world I will do with 800 fenestratus though:).
