Titania;2236279; said:That's good to hear. I figure I only have to put on the hoses once, so it should be OK. Ultimately, I won't run that filter once I've got my sump up and running. The 55 gal that the pikes are in now is eventually going to be my sump. But, I can't move them, until I've got this tank cycled and totally up and running...
How often do you find you need to clean them? I clean my Eheims a couple times a year, but my Renas need attention every month or so.

If you ever want to sell that cascade, I'd be very interested (I just like to have the same filters so I can buy the same sponges for multiple filters)
obviously you're spoiled by those fancy german engineered canisters, lol! I have an eheim that, like you said only requires cleaning every 6 months or so.

It's such a hassle to clean, I'm just not looking forward to it.
