Yes look up hyrdo lustar sponge filter (The best brand sponge filter) on amazon and get an appropriate sized air pump and airline tubing for it. Thats adds extra filtration, bacteria growth, and water movement. As far has hang on backs the best two are marineland penguin 350 and aquaclear filters. Though once he is huge and in a big tank you might want to look into getting into a big canister filter or a sump.
 
And if you want a reliable heater eheim jager is the only one I will ever use again. Some heaters have been known to fail and malfunction and cook your fish. Never had a problem with any product from eheim and I know guys who have had the same eheim heater for over a decade with no problems.

Thanks for the offer, I just got Aqueon Pro Adjustable Heater the other day with a pretty good review but I will keep in mind that brand.
 
Definitely keep it in mind but you could also buy an external heater controller for your aqueon heater to help monitor the temperature and prevent any disasters.
 
Just quick update, my flowerhorn doing well and looks adjusting his new tank since last time I move him.
Here is a picture of him, do anyone knows what is his type?
