New filtration setup questions

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Bio-balls are great for wet dry filters and sumps, but they are terrible for canisters. I'd stick with good ol ceramic media and lots of it.

What do you suggest I use in it? I want it to be set up to work efficient and well if I pay that much for it. (That and I want the fish to live, along with having clear water.)

Hahahah i forgot about that gage lol.

Yeah stephen we all have asked the same questions you are now asking. I only passed on info to gage that i learned from other members that helped me set it up.

The 2262 comes with a large bag (empty) for the bio. You have to figure out how you want to set it up. Lots of great ways. D deeda (the godfather of all things eheim)

I cant remember how much bio i pjrchased but it was allot. For mech i used 20 and 30 ppi sheets of poret foam. The stuff is great i use the 20 in all my filters.

So you'll need to buy bio (allot)
And something for mech (poret foam is what deeda recommended and i love the stuff)
Make sure you buy the 2262 that come with the quick disconnects.

If you go with poret foam you'll have to cut the sheets to fit, easy peasy. Forgot to mention that
