new fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sounds good. Btw some of your tanks will be way overstocked and some of them will be almost empty. Or understocked. I suggest doing a little switcharoo between tanks. Make them a little more even. Like for example the 250g. You could probably double your stock. Not litterally. But bioload-wise. I wouldn't put 2 jaguars cichlids and 2 black belts, etc in that tank.

Marbled Sailfin Cats only get a little over 2ft. They do fine in a 240g. Even with tankmates. 1 dovii will do fine if kept single in a 240g also. Perhaps a 180g with tons of pothos and dilligent maintanence. For a pair though I would shoot for a 450g. 2 males wont work though. At least 1 has to be female.

you just gave the best idea i can save up for a 450g get a pair and breed the doviis for money also which tanks are overstocks tell what tanks messed up and what is the problem so i can salve it also what is pothos?

my mother says if i can save up for the tank stank and the fish she will get thing like decor and such but first we need to move out of this little apartment also a friend (unaware of MFK) told me i had to have a permit to keep rays and such is this true? and could i possibly add an arapaima to the indoor pond also if i the pond has to be forced outside how would i keep it at the right temp during are blazing summers in AZ if we get shaded deck that is large enough could i put it there?

also sorry for the butt-load of question

Your planning too much when your not ready for it. You had a similar thread going before and it got locked. Don't plan these stock lists until you have the new tank or pond infront of you.

Upgrade first, then ask the stocking questions.

The 550g is way overstocked.

Aiapaima need at least 10,000 gallon they are one of the largest freshwater fish in the world. Compare to wels catfish.

The 500g is extremely understocked. You could put those fish in a 180g. Maybe a 125g.

The 300g is also extremely understocked. Those fish only need a 75g.

150g seems cozy/just right. You could even do with a 125g w/o too much hassle.

If you are referring to a giant grouper those can get over 1,300lbs and almost 10ft long. No way will a 450g suffice even short term. I got this information directly from Wikipedia here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giant_grouper

You are definitely pushing the limits of the 450g for the aba aba. Though it could work.
