this isnt really any question..but..i just wanted to say, when i opened the box.. OMG :WHOA::WHOA::WHOA: its HUGE!!!!!!....i dont know what im afraid of more..the actual size of it, or the intake/return!!
:jaw:

hehe...i just thought its amazing. whats your setups like with one or..more of these bad boys?!
125 gal SA for me!:naughty:

I did the same thing. The FX5 is massive!

I have my FX5 on my 125 and it is soooo worth the money. Not only that, but it's like the quietest filter I've ever seen. Mine makes no noise unless your ear is in the cabinet. I run prefilter, carbon, and biomax in the 3 trays and my water stays crystal clear with it.

This is an old pic before I switched to black sand.

I hope you love your filter as much as I do!

I love mine! I run it on a 90 gallon SA tank.

We have one that we love for our 75 gallon reef tank. But it puts a lot of small bubbles into our tank. It's usually GREAT right after a cleaning - but after a day the bubbles are back. Has anyone had similar problems?

I get bubbles in mine when it needs to be cleaned. For me, the FX5 is pure mechanical filtration, I have a sump handling the biological. I pull all the pads out of the FX5 and put them in my washing machine on the rinse cycle. No more bubbles.

As for the size of it.... when I first opened the box I thought... wait I ordered a filter, this is a shop Vac!!!

yeah i have 2 on my 180 sa/ca cichlid tank. water is unbelievably clear and maintenance is a breeeeeeeeeeze

I do get the occasional day of micro bubbles coming out of it. But it happens after cleaning... and I doubt it needs cleaning every 2 days.
