btw, doors that are 19+ wide work excelent. my doors are about 19.5" are perect for getting it in and out

Just make sure you put wide enough doors on it to get the filter in there, or put the filter in before you put the tank on. I have loads of space in my stand, but my doors are not wide enough to get the filter in there. So rt now it has to sit next to the stand in the corner untill we move and I can put it in there before putting the tank on the stand..

if youre planning on making them wide, then youre probably fine!..i believe (sorry if im wrong) the filter is 13 or so inches wide? so really anything wider than 15+will be ideal and non regretable!. so to sum it up, what works perfect for me, is 17" wide X 18.5" tall doors, with an inside stand height of 29" by 14" deep (usable space)..service is a breeze!

the filter is 14" wide at its wides spot. So a 15" door will work.
My stand is old school I guess..lol well at least for one of my 150's.. My doors are only 10" wide, so I had to put the filter to the side till we move, then Ill put it in thur the top before I put the tank on.

im going to pick a 265 up this weekend and its coming with 1 fx5 and a 90g sump!! Will this be enough filtration??

That will all depend on what you are stocking your 265gal with.

im putting a 17 inch channel cat, a 18 inch spotted gar, a 10 inch oscar, a 5inch pictus cat, a 9 inch ID, and a 10 inch pleco

what kind of lighting do you use?

Just set up my 180 with 1, so far so great. Does anyone use the purge valve to drain some of the water out of the filter before they clean the filter? If so I asume you just bought a hose a clamp yourself to attach to the drain? Also how often do you clean the pads and the rest of the normal cleaning/draining?
