The day I get rid of my fx5 is the day I quit the fish hobby, Looking to add 1 or 2 more in the near future. there are better filters out there, but for the $$, if you buy online and get the price I got mine for, it's way worth it.

Thx, I don't have my tv setup yet so it was helpful. How often those of you who have one do cleanings as so forth?

i use it, very handy, but you dont even need a hose clamp, just screw the plastic ring on there, sealing the hose around it, and its fine that way :thumbsup:
 
I had three on a 180 planted with ceramic rings in the first two baskets and matrix in the bottom. It was so much flow that I took one off and replaced it with a mag350 just as a surface skimmer.
 
I have 2 FX's on my 175g bowfront and a 30g sump with a 1050gph return pump. I have over 80 African cichlids in there and my water is always clean.
 
Here's a pic of my fx5 and uv sterilizer. I love how you can use it to do speedy water changes. I just run a hose around the corner to the bathroom and into the bathtub to drain. I put a quick connect on the bathroom faucet and run a hose to the tank to fill it back up. I'll be getting another fx5 really soon:naughty:
