New Gator Gar

I just bought a 4-5" Gator Gar today and I will be picking it up tomorrow. I was just wondering about how I should have the tank. I believe I read somewhere that I should have some spots for it to hide or something. Should I get some stuff to float on top so there's not that much light? Thank you. Will post photos when it comes...

gars dont really hide however they do like to hang out in plants. try some floating plants.

You got that backwards..the wolffish will tear up the gar!!

its a gold wolffish.
non aggressive.
and yes,the gator will probably take a shot at the wolffish.

So either way, they shouldn't be together right now? What about when they get to be about similar size? They'll be in a 300 in about a month...
